Locations , Location Scouting and Location Risk Assessments.
Locations
We also used the big drama hall for the dance, however, we felt that it didn't make our music video look very professional. Therefore, we done re-shoots of the dance on the green screen in Media room B24. We found that this looked more professional and effective.
Location scouting is a vital process in the pre-production stage of filmmaking. Once scriptwriters, producers or directors have decided what general kind of scenery they require. Location scouts also look for generally spectacular or interesting locations beforehand, to have a database of locations in case of requests.

Analysis of Research
From doing my research on album covers, music videos and album adverts, I have found out that all genres have their own codes and conventions which are featured in their digipacks. They have a particular colour theme, similar images and the same typography throughout their adverts, album covers and music videos.
As we have chosen the genre of pop/r'n'b for our DigiPack, I particularly focused on this genre when analysing my music videos. I found that all 3 videos I analysed had a variety of different camera shots which were cut to the pace/beat of the song. The most popular shots were close up's if the artist singing and medium long shots to show what they were wearing. I also noticed that within this genre, the artist is usually in the video themselves. This is done to attract their fans and to also publicise themselves more. Therefore, we will also feature the artist in our music video and use similar cinematography. I also realised that there are multiple locations used, bright colours and lighting and some dancing in the music videos.
By analysing album covers, I have found out that the artist is also featured on the cover, especially within the Pop genre. This is done to attract fans as well as allow people to recognise who the artist is. I analysed Eliza Doolittle's album cover as a pop genre artist, and it showed that it was quite quirky and colourful, making it unique and eye-catching. I also analysed a rock album cover, which didn't feature the band and had only one image, and i analysed a dance album cover which did feature the artist, however, it was a simple cover, only having one image(Example) and a black, white and yellow colour scheme. I found that the pop album cover was the most interesting and eye catching due to the colours and the unusual main image. From doing this task, I will be using an image of the artist on my album cover to follow the main conventions of the pop genre.
I also analysed 3 album/single magazine adverts, in which I found that they all featured the artist, their name, the album name, release date, artist website and their record label logo. When we do our advert, we will also be using all these features to make it look as professional as possible. The use of the artist allowed the reader to acknowledge who the artist actually is. They all also had their own colour scheme, typography and one main image. They also featured their logo/name in their recognisable typography, which allows the audience to recognise them when they see one of their products. This also helps raise public awareness and publicity.
From doing this research, I feel confident that I understand the relevant codes and conventions that the Pop/RnB genre have, what is featured in album covers and magazine adverts as well as how a pop video is put together effectively with cinematography.
