Final Back Cover and behind CD for Digi Pack
This is the final back cover for my digi pack. I decided to keep the black and white theme to match the front cover. I also kept the same 'Zapfino' font to create a synergy with the digi pack. The use of the barcode, web address, production company logo and legalities also follow the main conventions of all digi packs.
Final Front Cover and Inside(Left) for Digi Pack
This is my final front cover for our groups Digi Pack. As a group, we all created one album cover each, as we decided that letting the audience choose what album cover they preferred would be our USP for the Digi Pack. The Alternative album covers would be part of the inside of the Digi Pack, allowing the buyer to move covers as they please.
This would be the left hand inside of the digipack. The flipped/mirrored image links to the Reflection name. The black and white effect on one could also represent that the artist has 2 different sides to her.
This page would also be the acknowledgements/thank you's page. This is a very common page in all album digi packs. I decided to use a plain Ariel font for this as it is easy to read and indicates that this page isn't directly related to track listing etc (So the audience doesn't think the text is song lyrics etc)

Evaluation - Q2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Throughout our music video and my Digi pack, we decided to create a media synergy through many different techniques.
The 1st way we have created synergy in our group work was by using leopard print in some part of each product. For example, in my album cover, I used leopard print as the background. Other ways we've used the leopard print has been in font, clothing (Olivia's dress on the album back cover) and as a replacement on the green screen in our music video. I feel that using the leopard print allows the audience to remember the artist easily and it becomes an artist 'trademark'/print or logo. Therefore, by seeing the leopard print in the video/digi pack, the audience would automatically know who the artist is.
The next thing we decided to do to create synergy was to use the same font and colours on most products. We decided to stick to the gold/cream/orange colour scheme and in a elegant font called 'Zapfino'. The use of golden colour and 'swirly' font creates a sophisticated theme. I feel that this would attract our target audience of 13-25 year old women. However, on our magazine advert, we decided to use slightly different colours and a slightly different font, to catch peoples attention. The image is similar, therefore, the reader will see the image and read on to see what the advert is about.
Another technique we've used to create synergy is by using the black and white effect. We've done this on the majority of the music video which has given it a look of simplicity, calmness and elegance. To follow this theme, I've also used it on the background of my album cover and on the entire back cover for the album.
Another small thing we've done to create a synergy, is by reflecting the main image or text on our products as the album name is 'Reflection'. For example, on my album cover i've reflected the album title. I feel that this fits in extremely well with the album name. It is also a unique and effective technique we have used. On the advert we have also reflected the main image to stick to the theme.
Finally, we've decided to use similar photographs for each product. Most photos we took were a low angle, medium/medium long shot of our artist. The use of the low angle allowed our artist to have power and become more dominant. We also took a few high angle shots and mirror reflection shots as they fit our album name well. For my album cover, I decided to use a medium close up image of Olivia looking over her shoulder into the camera. This created a sense that she was walking away from something or turning her back towards someone, which links with the lyrics in our music video. By using all these techniques, we have created a media synergy within our products and have also created a brand identity.
CROSS MEDIA MARKETING- form of cross-promotion in which companies use a variety of media platforms to promote their product.
For our work we have used 3 different types of marketing; our music video, our album cover and our magazine advert. By using these different types of media, a brand identity and public awareness for our artist will increase.
If I was to expand my media products to create a wider brand identity and cross media marketing, i'd:
- advertise our artist on TV using TV Spots, album adverts or air play of our music video.
- get advertisements on buses, taxis, underground tube and on bus stops.
- advertise our artist on the radio through radio ads and radio air play of the song.
- create a clothing line such as a limited edition clothing range or merchandise.
- create a doll of the artist for the younger audience.
- create a website : www.withloveamelia.com
- possibly create a perfume range by the artist
- QR Code to direct people straight to the artist website
There are many different forms of promotion and marketing, however I feel that the 3 forms of marketing that we used would be the most effective as they would be distributed quickly through the internet on websites like YouTube and social networking sites and through local stores.

Evaluation - Q4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
SOFTWARE I'VE USED
Photoshop- Used to create album cover, album back, album spine and magazine advert. I found this programme simple and straight forward to use.
Premier Pro - Video Editing for main music video and vox pops. We viewed the clip in the left hand side screen and the actual timeline in the right.
YouTube - Uploading Videos to be able to embed them onto my blog
Microsoft Powerpoint - Used to present research and some planning such as locations and narrative.
www.prezi.com - online powerpoints for budgets and target market. This allows presentations to be animated and more interesting.
www.video.online-convert.com/convert-to-mp4 - used to convert AVI files to MP4. It was a very straight forward to use and was very fast.
www.yola.com - to create the website for our artist as part of promotion
www.blogger.com - used to upload all coursework for Media Studies A2 Digi Pack
HARDWARE I'VE USED
Mac- used to edit all work for our Digi Pack
Canon Digital Camera - used to take still shots for our album and magazine advert. It was a very high quality camera, meaning that our final images would be of a high quality.
Sony HD Digital Video Camera - to shoot music video and vox pops. This was also of a high quality and was very easy to use. It was also simple to transfer all videos onto the mac.
Studio Lighting - used whilst filming and photo shoot to create a natural/even lighting. They were very simple to use.
Green Screen - used to shoot parts of our music video and parts of our photo shoot. This allowed us to easily add a chosen background. This was simple to set up and easy to put away.
Tripods- this allowed us to keep the camera still when shooting. It also allowed us to tilt the camera at a point and pan the shot.
RE-SHOOTING?
For our music video, our group decided to re-shoot the dancing scenes. This was because the 1st location we used didn't look very professional as the floor was scuffed and the location looked too 'school drama studio'. Therefore, we decided to re-shoot Olivia dancing on the green screen in a media room, so we would be able to edit in any background we wanted. This worked perfectly, however, we found that space was restricted, so we had to ensure that the dance didn't leave the green screen. This was the only re-shooting we did for our music video.

Photoshoot for our Digi Pack
These were the photos which were taken for our first photoshoot, which would be used for our album covers. Meryem styled Olivia's hair whilst me and Shannon took photos of 'backstage' production. Once that was done, Meryem, Shannon and me took these photos against the green screen. We particularly like the low angle shots as it makes our artist look powerful/dominant. We also liked the mirror shots as it clearly links with the 'Reflection' album name. The highlighted image was the image I chose to use for my version of the album cover.
These are the second set of images we took at our second photoshoot. From this photoshoot, I used 3 images for my digi pack. One for the back cover and one for the thank your and behind the CD. We used a different outfit for this shoot, however, we used a leopard print dress to stick to the colour schemes we had decided on.
